Portfolio holding

A portfolio holding is a company after the fund has invested. Northwind Health can be a deal while you are deciding, and a holding once the investment is on the books.

The company record does not get replaced. Portfolio Monitoring adds the holding view: value, requests, board cadence, and the reporting you ask of the company. The deal remains the history of how the investment was made.

You do not create a holding by adding a company in Dealflow. A holding follows an investment. Until that exists, the company stays a dealflow company.
